I WAS DELIGHTED when MA editor, Jay Smith, asked if I would submit an article on the history of model engines. As the Model Engine Collectors Association’s (MECA) president, I feel it is important to keep this history alive. MECA does this through our publications, but through MA we can tell the story to a larger audience.
